Hi, I’m Karen, owner of Tailored Tails, proudly located in Forest, VA.

I am a graduate of the Nash Academy of Animal Arts and a professional dog groomer with over 30 years of experience. Grooming has always been more than a career — it’s a lifelong passion. I’ve spent decades refining my skills, staying current with grooming techniques, and caring for every dog that walks through my door.

At Tailored Tails, your pet isn’t just another appointment — they’re family. I make it my priority to ensure each pup feels safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. Whether it’s a simple bath or a full breed-standard groom, I approach every session with patience, kindness, and attention to detail.

To provide the highest level of care, I hold certifications in Difficult Dog Handling & Training, Pet First Aid & CPR, and Geriatric Pet Care. These allow me to confidently groom anxious, reactive, elderly, or special-needs pets with the gentle support they deserve.

Throughout the years, I’ve worked with dogs of every size, coat type, and personality — from puppies getting their first tidy-up to seniors needing extra care and full transformations. The photos on this site feature just a few of the wonderful pups I’ve been lucky enough to groom, each reflecting the pride and love I put into my work.
